It all began with a small group of gingerbread houses built by community members in 1992 as another way to celebrate the holiday season with no plans to continue, who knew two decades later The Omni Grove Park National Gingerbread House Competition would be one of the nation’s most celebrated and competitive holiday events. The Gingerbread Display has become a family tradition. From the very young to the very young at heart, the reaction to this magical experience is the same – one of wonder, awe and delight. | 7:30 PM | Be ready to be amazed on a self-guided visit of the Candlelight Christmas Biltmore Estate in all its Candlelight Christmas glory. A majestic Norway spruce & pathway luminaries welcome you to America’s Largest Home. Inside, with Christmas music playing, thousands of ornaments reflect the soft glow of candles, fireplaces, and twinkle lights. There are more than 100 hand decorated Christmas trees, 100,000 holiday lights, 1,200 live poinsettias and 6,000 feet of fresh evergreen garland that provide the Estate that magical ambiance satisfying all the senses.
